How we start

Three simple steps

A free assessment call

A short conversation, with no obligation. You tell me what is going on, and I ask the questions that help me understand what your child, or you, really need.

We book the first lesson

At your home or at my place in District V. In the first lesson I see where the gaps are and how the student learns best.

A clear plan, and a package if it suits you

After the first lesson you get a short plan. If you want to continue, I offer a package of lessons at a reduced price.

How I teach

Simple learning beats complicated learning

Small successes build confidence. Confidence is just as important as knowledge. So every lesson ends with something the student can already do.

01

Vocabulary

Active ways to crack new words, not endless memorising.

02

Grammar

A few simple, fixed rules instead of dozens of formulas.

03

Writing

A clear structure and key words, so the page is never empty.

04

Reading

A strategy for understanding a text without knowing every word.

About me

Hi, I'm Shirit

I taught English in middle schools and high schools in Tel Aviv for 14 years. I hold an English teaching certificate and a BA in Psychology with honours, and I bring both into every lesson.

I founded and ran a private English learning centre in Tel Aviv, where I taught children and teenagers in small groups and private lessons. Later I turned my method into digital courses used by hundreds of families.

Today I live in Budapest with my family. Together with my partner Elad I founded LUMVERA, so families here get the same care I gave my students in Tel Aviv. Teaching in person is where it all started, and it is still what I love most.

What parents say

Messages from parents

After many years of complaints, we got our first ever phone call from his English teacher. She called to tell us how much he is progressing and how well he is doing.

Shirley Yosef

She really enjoys your lessons and keeps telling us how much they save her. Her teacher at school can't run an orderly lesson because of the disruptions, and in your lessons she understands what she was missing. Thank you for everything you put in!

Natalie

A boy with serious anxiety about English. I want to thank you for bringing back his trust in good teachers. You are simply wonderful. Thank you so much.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What happens in the free assessment call?

We talk for a short while about what is going on: school, tests, confidence, goals. I ask a few questions to understand the real need. There is no obligation. If it is a good fit, we book a first lesson.

Where do the lessons take place?

At your home anywhere in Budapest, or at my place in District V, in the city centre. Workshops take place at the school or organisation.

In which language do you teach?

The lessons are in English. When a child needs an explanation in Hebrew, I can give it, so nothing gets lost.

Who are the lessons for?

Children from 1st grade, including young children who are just learning to read and write in English, teenagers at any type of school in Budapest, and adults who need English for work and daily life. In the assessment call we check together that the lessons fit.

What if we need to cancel or move a lesson?

Let me know at least 24 hours in advance and we will find a new time, free of charge.

How do I pay?

By bank transfer to LUMVERA Oktatási Kft., a company registered in Budapest. You receive an invoice for every payment.

For schools and communities

Want to bring English to life in your school or community?

I run in-person English workshops for Israeli schools and Jewish community organisations in Budapest. Each workshop is built around your group, its age and its goal.
